The Elvira estate covers a whopping 37 acres of exclusive private woodland, olive groves, citrus groves, and incredible Italian gardens.
The Castle and the Castle Cottage offer six individually styled and designed suites that can welcome a maximum of 13 guests. There are two stunning stone-clad pools and a large jacuzzi, all set in incredible Italian gardens that extend to a large, green, tranquil yoga and meditation area.
An on-site restaurant specialises in authentic home-cooked Pugliese cuisine and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The castle also has a private cinema, a private dining room for special occasions, and a superb roof terrace bar that opens every evening for you to witness the spectacular Salento sunsets.
The Castle’s large 100m2 salon is the perfect social meeting point, or a welcoming space to lounge on one of the cozy sofas, read a good book, play backgammon, or simply enjoy the incredible art works on the walls. Guests often give impromptu performances on the stunning Beckstein Grand piano, sometimes playing to an audience or just playing for their own enjoyment. The beautiful private dining room can be reserved for private dining experiences for up to 12 guests; it is a wonderful opportunity for guests who would like to celebrate a special occasion away from the main restaurant. Our super comfortable private cinema offers connectivity to your personal film media accounts and also has Computer Mirroring capability. The cinema is furnished with Timothy Oulton sofas, possibly the most comfortable sofas in the world. The Castle’s four floors are all accessed by a red glass- lined elevator, and it travels from the cozy private cinema up to the castle rooftop cocktail bar.
Castle Elvira sits on top of the St. Elia Ridge (named after the historically significant St Elia convent), on Via Andrano, also named by the locals “the Vale of Health”, due to the belief that the air in St Elia is the freshest air in Salento and that it has health-giving properties. Lecce (The Florence of the South) is only 15 minutes from the castle, and there is easy access to both coastlines, the Ionian Sea (20 minutes) and the Adriatic sea (10 Minutes). In fact, in this very central Pugliese location, you will have access to Ostuni and its surrounding villages, Otranto, Gallipoli, Nardo, Manduria, and many other beautiful, famous cities and towns. Brindisi airport is just 30 minutes away, and Bari airport is one hour and 45 minutes away.
